Impacts of screens and social media on young people

Make a difference: express your views to parliamentarians

On June 6, 2024, the Assemblée nationale du Québec created the Select Parliamentary Committee on the Impacts of Screens and Social Media on Young People's Health and Development.

Between now and May 2025, the members of the Select Committee will focus on the issues under consideration, in particular by consulting the general public (including young people) and experts. They will then submit a report to the Assemblée nationale no later than May 30, 2025.

Young people, parents, grandparents, citizens concerned about the issue, would you like to:

take part in the Committee’s work?

give your opinion and make your reality known?

  • Screen time control measures, in particular at school and on the Web, including access to digital learning tools
  • Access to social media, including video games
  • Cyberbullying, including the sharing of sexually explicit material

On January 30 and 31 and on February 3, 4 and 5, 2025, the Committee held the second phase of special consultations and public hearings at the Assemblée nationale to explore certain issues in greater depth and to hear from new people or organizations.
